  • New York - Public Service Commission (PSC), Consumer Education & Advocacy
    The Office of Consumer Services of NY PSC provides a variety of services to protect and assist utility customers. Its Consumer Assistance and Consumer Education and Advocacy sections seek to ensure that the Department and the utility companies it regulates are responsive to the needs and concerns of individual consumers and to the public.

    The Office of the Commissioner of Banks is committed to serving and protecting consumer interests. The Consumer Affairs Division handles community outreach and consumer complaints.

  • North Carolina - Department of Insurance
    The Consumer Services Division is responsible for gathering and responding to consumer inquiries regarding insurance company or producer activities.

  • North Carolina - Utilities Commission
    The North Carolina Utilities Commission is an agency of the State of North Carolina created by the General Assembly to regulate the rates and services of all public utilities in North Carolina. It is the oldest regulatory body in state government. The present Commission evolved from the Railroad Commission which was created in 1891 and given authority to regulate railroad, steam boat, and telegraph companies.

  • North Dakota - Attorney General
    The Consumer Protection and Antitrust Division (CPAT) enforces the state’s consumer fraud laws in connection with the sale or advertisement of merchandise. The division investigates and prosecutes consumer fraud cases, mediates individual consumer complaints, and educates the public on how to avoid becoming victims of fraud. CPAT enforces the state’s Do-Not-Call laws and is the state’s clearinghouse for identity theft prevention, complaints, and victim assistance.

  • Ohio - Attorney General
