City of Bakersfield’s Fair Housing Division

The Economic Development Division administers the Community Development Block Grant, HOME Investment Partnership Program, and Emergency Solutions Grant. We also provide staff assistance to the Bakersfield Redevelopment Successor Agency and Oversight Board, and the Historic Preservation Commission. We work to assist in the creation of new affordable housing and rehabilitate existing housing stock with community partners, we partner with local organizations to provide community services, and we respond to Fair Housing concerns in the City of Bakersfield. Finally, we plan and implement economic development activities that protect, improve, and diversify the local economy.
