There are multiple editions of the ‘Guide’, some which deal with specific issues such as housing or credit.   • Poison Control Centers in California (CPCS)
    This is a telephone consultation service for emergency questions about poison exposure. Look in the White Pages for the poison control center that serves your county.

  • Public Citizen
    Consumer advocacy group that supports citizens’ rights concerning health, safety and good government. Organization includes Buyers Up, Congress Watch, Critical Mass, Health Research Group and Litigation Group.

  • Sonoma County Sheriff
    This department provides law enforcement, court security services and detention services to the citizens of Sonoma County. Helps with an eviction when a Writ of Possession has been issued by the Court in an Unlawful Detainer Action.

  • U.S. PIRG (Public Interest Research Group)
    A nonprofit, non-partisan organization dedicated to serving as watchdog for the nation’s citizens and environment. Produces reports on campaign finance reform, consumer issues such as ATM rates and auto safety, and advocates for strong consumer safeguards in the areas of product safety and environmental issues. State chapters focus on more regionally important issues, but also mirror national concerns.

  • United States Coast Guard, (DHS)
    The United States Coast Guard is a military, multimission, maritime service and one of the nation’s five Armed Services. Its mission is to protect the public, the environment, and U.S. economic interests in the nation’s ports and waterways, along the coast, on international waters, or in any maritime region as required to support national security.
