Nevada - Weights and Measures Office

The Bureau of Weights and Measures is charged with the responsibility to inspect and test all commercially used weighing and measuring devices.  These devices include the fuel dispensers used at service stations and truck stops, scales used in supermarkets and specialty stores, refueling meters at airports and liquefied petroleum gas dispensers.  When requested, the Bureau inspects and tests truck, concrete and asphalt scales for the Nevada Department of Transportation.

The Consumer Protection programs include the inspection of packaged goods for labeling and proper content. Computer-based systems are inspected for price verification. Consumer complaints are responded to and corrective actions taken when violations are found.
